Men's 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay: USA
How I wish I could stay at home all day just to watch the Olympics! Olympics has been a bad time for the 1988 Dragon babies. PSLE and O lvls during the 2000 and 2004 Olympics. What a bummer.
I caught a reply of the swimming finals of the 4 x 100m freestyle relay. It was incredibly jaw dropping! Phelps seem to be off form this Olympics, he cannot achieve the 8 Gold medals which was his target. Nonetheless this relay was so incredibly exciting as 5 teams were ahead of the World Record when their second swimmer were in place.
France, USA, and Australia were neck in neck as the Frenchmen and the Americans pulled ahead, French leading the way by probably less than a body's length. While the Americans struggled to push ahead, so did the Frenchmen, way ahead of the existing world record.
As the final swimmer plunged into the waters, it was apparent that only the Americans and the Frenchmen were heading for the gold medal. Jason Lezak pulled himself with each stroke as he steadily caught up with the Frenchman. As they kicked off the wall at the 50m mark, the showdown intensified as the Frenchman frantically paddled with his arms.
Lezak pulled on, stroke by stroke as he caught up. It was barely 25meters till they arrive at the finishing mark and all eyes were on these 2 competitors, side by side as they both reached out for the wall....
And on a side note, Tao Li was 5th in place for the 100m women's freestyle. What a waste. Ronald Susilo got hammered by Malaysia's Lee C W who "monkeyed" Susilo.
And lastly. I HATE iTUNES

Spectacular.
